Where bitWeaver really shines

Bitweaver ( and many projects like it ) give you one thing that commercial projects can't, don't and never will: participation. I joined the bitweaver dev-team a few months back and found out how open the team really is.

No where else have I had the opportunity to be involved in the inner-most workings of a project. In IRC I am able to both ask questions and give my input on where particular bitweaver issues are headed and have it count based on it's merit, not because I have a resume a mile long or have donated a lot of money ( or time ) to the project; believe me I have none of the above. I am just walterwoj, team member and occasional bug fixer. In the grand scheme of things I may be one of the smallest contributers to the project but I have never felt that way or been treated that way by the larger contributers.

That, is where bitweaver really shines.

It is important to understand what what purely community driven open source projects are about. No deadlines, no pressure, just fun and honour for the people around the project.
