users module
users module
Posted:26 Feb 2009 (15:22 UTC)Hi,
I'd like to put a module in the right column that provides a list of registered users (or at least a random list of, say, 15 of them). The closest thing I found was the "who is there" module. Instead of just the usernames I would prefer their avatar. Also, for some reason (and this happens in the who's online module also), some names repeat themselves several times (generally happens after numerous login/logouts. Sounds a little like a caching problem. Any ideas?

Posted:12 Mar 2009 (04:44 UTC)I'd copy mod_online_users.php and .tpl to a different name, then use that code (has the variables you need) as a basis for what you want.
As for the multiple user entries - it might be a cache'ing issue - did you try flushing the system cache?
EDIT: After leaving my browser logged-in to my live site overnight, I discovered that I now show two entries for my user id in the Who is there module.
Hmmm. Curiouser and curiouser...
