error during and after install, problem writing icon cache file

during the installation process, everything checks okay, except at the package installation point, i get the following error messages next to each package item:

There was a problem writing the icon cache file

Then, BitWeaver says the installation is successful, but the same error messages appear at the application 'home page' in the place of all the components of the packages.

I've checked the permission settings on all the folders and they are correct - were correct and verified prior to installation.

I've created the temp/themes/biticon/250/tango/en/default/ directory manually, but that didnt work either.

anything else i should try?

nevermind - not really sure what i did, but going back and uninstalling and reinstalling the packages appears to have done the trick
