Wiki - limit anonymous users to home page

Posted:21 Aug 2010 (13:29 UTC)
I've just installed bitweaver with the Wiki package. I admit that I'm a long way from understanding how this whole thing works; all I really want is a Wiki system. I'd like to configure it so that anonymous users can only see the home page and can't go any further without logging in. I've restricted them to just "can view pages" but there doesn't seem to be any way to restrict viewing of pages in general. How can I set this up?

Hi Peter,

You will want to disable viewing all pages for the anonymous user in Admin -> Groups and Permissions.

Then, go to the home page and click the "Assign Permissions" icon in the toolbar (the small open hand).

Under Anonymous column, check "Can View Page/Pages". This will setup a custom permission *just* for that page.

Good luck!

Thanks! that works perfectly.

I wonder - is the behaviour of these permissions documented somewhere, and I just didn't find it, or is it something that still needs to be documented?
