{quote format_guid="bbcode" comment_id="4827" user="xing"}i'm very sorry to hear this theagent. i hope you can bring up the patience until we've sorted this mess out and you feel ready to use bitweaver. i truly think that dropping by irc will help solve a lot of the problems quickly since we can help you in real time. currently it seems that everyone is quite busy and you might have to just type your question and wait for the answer for a bit, but i assure you we will answer your Qs as soon as we see them. regarding the non-entry level documentation: i truly appologise for this. i realise that we do set a certain amount of knowledge for granted in our documentation, but it is very difficult to write documentation for people who haven't set up at least some websites before, since we do this quite frequently and don't quite know what is required by new users. regarding the installation problems: could you elaborate a bit more? what server, what version of php are you using? have you installed easyPHP again? have you tried running the server check software found here: http://www.bitweaver.org/wiki/bitweaverRequirements have you got any other php based sofware running on this server? regarding templates: every package has their own templates. these are located in the individual package directories in: <package>/templates/ these templates are the original ones, and should generally not be touched. if you want to create a custom version of any given template, i recommend you make a copy of it in your style directory: themes/styles/<stylename>/<package>/ every template uses smarty syntax and you can read up on smarty on smarty.php.net. the template files are basically XHTML with some smarty stuff mixed in. all smarty stuff is enclosed with { ... } there is a brief template explanation here: http://www.bitweaver.org/wiki/TemplateAndCssGuidelines also, this page seems to be new and might contain some interesting information: http://www.bitweaver.org/wiki/bitweaverArchitecture regarding themes / css: themes are meant to be simple and yet very flexible. if you are using a theme that has @import url( ../../base.css ); at the top, please make sure you inspect the file themes/base.css as well. this css file has some generic settings and is supposed to help with the setup of new themes for users who don't really want to get into learning css. if you are confident with css i recommend you don't use the base.css import and create the css file from scratch or at least copy the contents to your own css file and don't import it. some classes might not be defined in the css files since the templates are designed for total freedom using css. i wrote them with as many different situations in mind as possible. the reason for this is to minimise the number of templates that need to be customised for any given theme. all you need to do, is maintain your css file during updates. i hope this helps a bit. xing. /me likes smarties....{/quote}
