{quote format_guid="bbcode" comment_id="5037" user="arnaudherve"}[quote:d685ffc850="xing"] i'm not quite sure what you mean with the links. you mean the directory feature present in tikiwiki where you can gather links and categorise them? [/quote:d685ffc850] Yes I meant that feature in Tikiwiki. I found it great at the beginning, and I found it absurd after practising, because the links on a subject were kept far away from the pages dealing with that subject. In fact after good editing we already had all the links in the specific wiki pages, and it was easier for the user to find them there. "Incorporate" is maybe too important a word for links lists, since what I meant is that's it easier to open a blank wiki page and write a ul list of http..... And this way you keep the flexibility to add whatever you want, like a text longer than usual, an image, a separation.... I also remember reading about CMS attempts that would be only about links sharing, that is not so absurd, but it remains rigid. More generally speaking, whenever the work is about creating a list of objects, we should wonder if we can just add a few lines of code in the css and a button in the edit template, as you did for the FAQ. I'm thinking of a pharmacology directory for instance. Well it would be tedious to build a rigid CMS just for that, whereas in a wiki page you can add text like "Warning: this is no longer sold in Europe" or any kind of addition that was not expected.{/quote}
