{quote format_guid="bbcode" comment_id="5605" user="stephenw"}[quote:ca6dff6a1d="xing"][size=10:ca6dff6a1d]hi stephenw, we have a simple page that illustrates how to upgrade from 1.0 to 1.0.1. the instructions for the freshbuild are the same: [url]http://www.bitweaver.org/wiki/bitweaverUpgrade[/url] you do not need to reinstall bitweaver if you copy your kernel/config_inc.php file, which should contain all your database specific information. PS: i'm very sorry for not pointing this out sooner, but i've done this so many times and just assume that other users *know* this as well.[/size:ca6dff6a1d] [/quote:ca6dff6a1d] Hi xing, Thanks so much for letting me know about the easier way. However, I think I may have goofed up my ability to use the easier way. I did not make any copies of my files before I uploaded the Bitweaver new build files, so they may have wiped out the config_inc.php file (I don't know for sure, but am assuming that.) Before I had uploaded the files, I looked in my website's CPanel and couldn't figure out how to copy files. I found where it let you move or rename files, but couldn't find any way to have it copy a file somewhere (it may be in front of my face and I just didn't see it, but I looked and looked.) Maybe next time I just need to use FileZilla to just download the files onto my computer. Any, that leaves me with, Where do I go from here? Would uploading the new build files right over the existing files have wiped out the config_inc.php file? How would I get a copy of the old file if it wiped it out. I'm assuming that this means that I would have to reinstall from scratch (see below, and my first message above.) Do I just delete the whole install and reinstall from scratch? (Since the installer doesn't seem to recognize MySQL 4.x on my server (see my first message above), I wouldn't know how to get it to connect? Sorry about my not knowing where to go from here. Thanks for your help, Stephen{/quote}
