He has gone on to develop gatekeeper which is yet another security package, but we do not have a 'simple' core security system in place at the moment. I have been looking at things for my own requirements, and have basically come to a halt. I need 'levels' of security, which will allow uses access depending on their own security level. So I would have a 0 to 7 security scale, with 7 being a special case. 0 is 'public' anybody can see it, but only a higher security user can edit it. 1 is 'user' - they can edit '0' content and read '1' content and so on up the scale to 6 7 is 'private', which means that only the user who created it can see it, or edit it, along with the admin user. This does not allow groups secure from one another, but that is not something I need to worry about. However there is no reason that the scale could not be extended to allow a second digit which would allow a number groups each with the same security scale, group '0' being still public, and then group '1', '2', '4' etc would allow flags to be added for 29 groups in a simple integer flag, although some of those flags could be used for other purposes, perhaps with a 'password' flag that means that a password is always required to view an item of content. Just another thought for a simple but secure security system.{/quote}
