{quote format_guid="bbcode" comment_id="7245" user="swayambhu"}[quote:c48330c5f1="lsces"]While it is possible that users_users should have contact information, the range of information that is required means that things would become bloated for people who simply do not require it. [/quote:c48330c5f1] I am totally against bloatware; that was the reason for my initial post - I did not want to make thoughtless changes to a great product in the making. [quote:c48330c5f1="lsces"] The current plan is for a separate contacts package - an old copy of which did exist - but which needed updating to bitweaver. [/quote:c48330c5f1] This is great news - is the old copy still lying somewhere in the CVS? [quote:c48330c5f1="lsces"] The new package would actually be in the format of LibertyForms, and would allow the administrator of a site to reconfigure both the layout of contact details on the page, and the modification of fields that are managed, without the need to create new fields in the core databases. [/quote:c48330c5f1] LibertyForms? Is this part of the LibertyPackage? [quote:c48330c5f1="lsces"] Until wolffy and I can actually agree on the way forward ...... Watch this space :).[/quote:c48330c5f1] I will. In the mean time if I do create a strawman 'Contacts' package could you or wolffy or spider suggest how one would go about linking the 'user_id' in the 'users_users' table to an entry in the 'Contacts' tables? I ask this since I am not too comfortable with the 'relations', 'normalization' and 'joins' and don't want to come up with something that takes horribly long time to search or display :oops:{/quote}
