Problems setup installation

Posted:17 Jul 2007 (07:21 UTC)
I have shared hosting webspace and want to use Bitweaver. Now I have this error:
__bitweaver is not properly set up:

The directory '/tmp' does not exist or PHP is not allowed to access it (check open_basedir entry in php.ini). __

The directory '/tmp' doesn't exist, but '/temp' does. I also had trouble finding php.ini. There was no such file.

I am new at this but I guess this is the way to learn. Any suggestions to help me?

Hi. Another beginner here. Have you checked to make sure that the 'tmp' folder is accessible. You will need to let the server know that it can write to the directory, and not just read from it. Your ftp program should have something like 'change access priviledges', or more commonly 'chmod'. You will need to set this to '755'.

All the best,

I have no tmp folder so I made one. And I set it to 755. Made no difference. On the other hand: I do have a temp folder... can't I use this folder in some way?

Look for a tmp folder in the same level as your "public_html" directory or your "www" directory.
