I tried a bitweaver a bit, but i have no time atm to mess with it, so i'd like if somebody would answer me a quick question.

I need a wiki like website, but no free edits. users would only be able to read the existing pages and edit them, but no edit would be applied until the administrator(s) approve it. can i pull this (easily) off with bitweaver or should i can it and get coding? (i hate inventing warm water, so i prefer reusing something that somebody already invented :P )

yes, this is supported by default. Using the standard installation, go to the Admin -> Users -> Groups and Permissions menu. Then simply assign the wiki edit page permission to the "Editors" group, and remove it from the registered and/or anonymous group. There are lots of very handy granular permissions your can grant/revoke with a click of the mouse button. You can get extra fancy and even override these on a per-page basis.
