shoutbox getting spammed despite CAPTCHA

shoutbox getting spammed despite CAPTCHA

My shoutbox has been getting spammed even with the CAPTCHA. I found the spammer's ip listed at:

www.projecthoneypot.org/ip_114.127.246.36

so it appears the CAPTCHA can be defeated robotically?

After I blocked this ip address via my .htaccess file the same spammer started spamming my shoutbox via Tor, so I banned all of Tor's Onion Router addresses per the list at iblocklist.com

I'm still getting spammed every time new Tor servers become available--about every three days. Is there some way to to make the CAPTCHA more difficult to automatically read?
