I want a solution that will track users as they traverse the site on a per user basis. Such as User1 visited homepage on "x" date and downloaded file "x" on x date. does bitweaver do this? or have an addon to provide this functionality?

At the risk of recommending the evil empire, you'd probably like Google Analytics. Any third party tracking software is going to give you much more robust results than bundled features in a CMS. They specialize in this sort of thing, no CMS can keep up with native features in this domain.
