TikiPro is an advanced, Open SOurce, Object Oriented, Content Management System (CMS) and Web Application Framework written in PHP. It takes advantage of a number of well established and widely used code libraries such as the ADOdb database abstraction library and Smarty Templates. ADOdb allows us to connect to a number of different databases including the incredibly advanced PostgreSQL (used by this site), the ever popular MySQL and AboutTikiPro. The powerful Smarty Templates allow us to strictly separate logic from content making it easy for you to customise the visual aspects by modifying well maintained Smarty templates, which are basically HTML code, making them easy to learn and handle.

Internationalisation

We have recently completely revamped all the internationalisation code and added some unique features including an easy to use interface for translating strings and collecting untranslated strings into the language database. This means that modifications and additions to the code can easily be updated by anyone right here on our site and then exported and imported on your own server. This benefits all users and makes translations a community driven project without the need for geeky third party applications or having to dig around crazy translation files.
If you are interested in helping us translate TikiPro into any language, please drop us a note in this forum thread and we will give you translator permissions.
