bitweaver - Web Application Framework and CMS

Web Application Framework and CMS

Developer gone wild

I've been a professional developer since 1996. I recently switched from Micro$oft based solutions to PHP because of the orientation of the .NET world toward compiled programs vs. scripted web applications. I don't know about everyone else's preferences, but I don't like having to recompile and upload a new version of my web site just to see if a change in a string function gave the result I wanted. PHP just seemed the logical choice.

I fell upon BitWeaver after examining what seems like hundreds of other CMS solutions, none of which came anywhere close to suiting the needs of the site I'm developing. Hopefully I'll find solutions for any problems I may discover in my own personal experience with Bitweaver, and they will be of use to someone else in the process.

My latest work has…

One of the first thing I noticed about Bitweaver when I found it on opensourcecms was that it integrated with phpBB. It was one of the reasons I chose it for the environment on my new production site. (Still under construction, so address will be given later.)

So after a bit of mucking with web hosts to find the one best suited to run Bitweaver, I upladed everything and got it all running famously at 1&1.com. so far, so good, until I noticed something in the foru…
