Is there a reason that when one views a user profile on bw.o that the page is in the users default language and not your preferred language as set by ones browser?

yes. the reason is a bug.

You are welcome to post bw.o bugs to SourceForge. They will most likely be also CVS bugs, as bw.o runs quite fresh code. Just note it is bw.o bug, the information might be useful for developers.
