adding links in fckeditor

I may be missing something obvious here, but how do you add a hyper link to text in fckeditor? Something like "[ http://Google . com | Google " (spaces added so it wouldn't be parsed) that will display the word "Google" and when you click on it take you to www.google.com.

when i click on the link icon in fckeditor, it only gives me options for link type, protocol and URL. The fckeditor documentation mentions a number of other options that should be in the editor pop up window.

Any ideas?
