It probably doesn't concern you! To find out how to upgrade bitweaver, visit bitweaverUpgrade. In short: after you backed up your data, bitweaver's installer upgrades your existing installations without pain.[/color:914d9312ad] Hi, recently, I updated my local mirror of an online project running on bitweaver 1.3.2 beta. I'm not sure if this report is of use for anyone, so I make a forum post instead of a wiki page. (where the Wiki page would've been more like a step by step guide for Windows users) [list:914d9312ad] * local: Windows XP/SP2: Apache 2.2.2, PHP 5.1.4, MySQL 5.0.21 (xampp) * remote: Ubuntu Linux: Apache 2.0.55, PHP 5.1.2, MySQL 5.0.22 * PhpMyAdmin 2.8.2 [/list:u:914d9312ad] The site is installed both locally and remote. First I synchronize both installs: my local installs are usally broken and not worth keeping, so I download everything from remote to local without saving my local stuff. If everything works, I overwrite the remote install with my upgraded local files and database. I call this strategy ''overlapping backup''. It might not be good advice for everyone. It might not even be a backup. [list:914d9312ad] * export remote DB with PhpMyAdmin and import it locally * overwrite all local files with remote files * check if my site works locally: http://mysi.te * yep, it does, so I download/unzip bitweaver 2 to d:\mysi.tenew\ * in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts add: 127.0.0.1 mysi.tenew * in c:\Programme\xampp\apache\conf\extra\httpd-vhosts.conf add a <VirtualHost> * restart Apache * open my local PhpMyAdmin, copy my databse to a new one with the name mysite_bw2 * open d:\mysi.tenew\kernel\config_inc.php, leave only <?php define( 'BIT_ROOT_URL', '/' ); ?> - (this resolves some issues I had with the upgrader) * open browser go to http://mysi.tenew/install/upgrade.php (I had to type-out this URL because of some issues I had with the upgrader) * select: "upgrade an existing database" * give details for DB mysite_new (I had a database prefix, if you have one too, don't forget) * the script throws some errors, first: * [code:1:914d9312ad]UPDATE `bw_liberty_comments` SET `root_id` = ? where `comment_id` = ?
