Tiki Wiki Syntax
Allow HTML
{quote format_guid="bbcode" comment_id="5130" user="Marbux"}I have little experience with Bitweaver but am an experienced user of Tikiwiki 1.8 and 1.9.2. Here are some wiki syntax bugs I have hit in Tiki that should not be carried forward in Bitweaver. LINE BREAK COMMAND. The wiki syntax line break code [code:1:0e6cce42f1]%%%[/code:1:0e6cce42f1] behaves consistently in Tiki only under the Gemsi theme. In all other themes, it produces inconsistent results. Confirmed in Bitweaver on this site's wiki; produces three blank lines instead of one. ORDERED LISTS. Placing a blank line between ordered list items results in three blank lines instead of one and produces a list in which every list item has the same number. Same behavior in all Tiki themes and on this website's wiki. UNORDERED LISTS. Blank line between list items renders as three blank lines, except in the Gemsi theme, which renders them correctly through all three levels of nested lists, then produces the same incorrect result for levels 4 and 5. Confirmed in the Wiki on this site for erroneous rendering in all five levels. It may assist in tracking this problem to observe that Gemsi, unlike other Tiki themes, defines heading levels only for levels 1-3, although why that might affect lists is not obvious to me. NO BLOCKQUOTE EQUIVALENT. Tiki has no wiki syntax equivalent of the HTML blockquote tags, which produce text indented on both the left and right sides. This is required formatting in most if not all major writing style manuals for quotations longer than two lines. This eliminates Tikiwiki as a candidate for any site that must produce content that complies with the style manuals. Not confirmed on this site. Each of the bugs described above can be rendered correctly using plain vanilla HTML are essential to rudimentary page layout. I hope you find the time to fix them. I appreciate your efforts to make a good platform better.{/quote}
