{quote format_guid="bbcode" comment_id="5573" user="stephenw"}[quote:2260c0522c="Anonymous"]Stephen - can you try to edit in Firefox/Mozilla/Netscape just so we can narrow down if this is a browser issue or a code issue?[/quote:2260c0522c] As mentioned above, I already tried it in Mozilla and it worked OK. [quote:2260c0522c="xing"] please confirm that it's nothing to do with your theme. try a very simple theme like basic. it doesn't require many images and the css is short. [/quote:2260c0522c] I had the same problem using the Basic Theme with IE. I went to the Wiki TOC page for one of the Wiki Books. I tested it several times in IE and found that when I clicked a "edit book", it took about 57 - 63 seconds to finish reloading the TOC page. As a comparison I did the same thing in Mozilla using the Basic theme and it took about 7-8 seconds. However, during this experiment, a possible error in the Basic Theme itself was revealed, as I have indicated here: [url]http://www.bitweaver.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1056[/url]. As a further experiment, I decided to use IE to try out a "edit book" in a couple other themes. In "buckyball", after pressing the "edit book" icon the screen took about 24 seconds to redraw both times of my experiment. Switch to the "chemokine" theme, the screen took 28 seconds to redraw after pressing the "edit book" icon. While it may not have anything to do with the problem, it was just interesting to me to see that each of the themes behaves differently during the time it takes to reload the window. With some themes the window window remains totally blank during the whole time of loading the window, with others part or all of the content may be visible during the loading process. For example, on both the buckyball and the chemokine themes, it only took about 5 seconds for the screen to redraw, although it still took the full 24 & 28 seconds for the browser to finish loading it. Compare that to the basic theme, which had a blank window for the full minute, and the July 4 theme, which had the heading show, but the bottom was blank for the full time. [i:2260c0522c](However, for the July 4 screen, sometimes the window was totally blank, while other times it had the header showing up part of the time or all of the time until the window finished loading)[/i:2260c0522c] I then went back to the "basic theme" and it again took 64 seconds to redraw the screen after clicking the "edit book" icon. Swithing back to the July 4 theme, it again took 56 seconds. Any more thoughts? Thanks, Stephen{/quote}
