{quote format_guid="bbcode" comment_id="6476" user="xing"}using imagemagick or magickwand are suggestions. you can just as well use gd. gd requires a bit more memory and is a bit slower than imagick so we recommend using imagick if you are planning to use images a lot. you can install imagemagick at any time and then change the image processing engine later (the setting can be found in admin -> liberty -> liberty settings). installing ImageMagick is usually quite straight forward, installing php-imagick or php-magickwand usually has to be compiled. this can only be done if your have root access to the machine. if you don't have full access, you will have to live with php-gd or get your provider to install php-magickwand or php-imagick for you. you can get the source files for php-magickwand from any of these mirrors: http://www.imagemagick.org/script/download.php download the file, extract it, make sure you have php-devel installed and then follow the instructions in the README / INSTALL files in the extracted archive. x{/quote}
