{quote format_guid="bbcode" comment_id="7148" user="arnaudherve"}[quote:a042190a19="Kozuch"]At first I thought it was for user events... :oops:[/quote:a042190a19] This is not a mistake, you were right. The word "calendar" should be used for events calendar. This confusion comes from the ancestor Tikiwiki, and is one of the main sources of non usability in Tikiwiki. When you display a big panel saying "bakery" over your store, you should expect the clients to come for bread. If they don't see bread inside, or if they see bread lost in so much grocery, it is non usability. Programmers can improve the GUI step by step, but they should certainly not use common words in the GUI for something else than the common understanding of those words. The tool for monitoring recent activity in the portal should be announced as such in the main GUI, and appear only when the user wants it. I have the feeling that Last Articles, Last Blog Posts modules and other Last Something module will be sufficient in many cases, but that on the other hands a User Calendar will be a highly appreciated feature. For example for Groups work. In coding, we can employ any word in any sense, providing it is correct code. In the GUI, there is no possibility that the word "Calendar" can be understood as "Last actions in this CMS". Last actions will be named "Last actions", generally. A calendar, like a paper calendar, gives you the opportunity to mark appointments for the future. At least the horror of mixing Users Events and Recent Activity in the display of the same page should be avoided.{/quote}
