best way to upload latest BW to your server?

Hi all,

I was wondering how everyone updated Bitweaver on your server. What's the best/fastest way? Do you FTP and just copy all the new files and directories of the latest version over your currently installed version, or do you upload the tar ball, unpack it, and use shell access to copy files and folders?

Just curious as to what the best way people have found!

Thanks!
Damian

Hiya, I use shell access and the CVS tool to sync directly with the repository. If you want to use this method for releases, simply cvs up to a CVS tag created when the team do a release.

Using CVS is an excellent way to manage the source code and not overwrite your modifications each time you upgrade.

Very interesting Damian. I use TortoiseCVS to just download the latest CVS to my local system. I'll have to look into CVS more so I can try what you are suggesting. Thanks! It sounds very convenient.

What I would do is just ssh to your remote server and run CVS update from there.
