Firstly - please anyone that can correct anything in error here - please do.

Ok so first I registered my new editor user through the login - register link.

Hehe managed to get a little lost in the various parts of the system, but managed to find my way back to the kernal/admin/index.php path.

I was finding navigating back to the admin menu difficult and in the end resorted to typing in the URL http://myDomain/bitweaver/kernel/admin/index.php - I am going to have to look at how I lost my way there - for the moment, I am opening all new pages in a new window

Ok my understanding of Permissions:

  • Permissions are all Group based i.e. you can asssign permissions for a group to say view an area - then all members of the Group will have access - if you are not a member of one of the Groups that has permission then you see nothing.

  • Admins can add, edit etc Groups through Kernel => Users => Groups & Permissions
Default Groups are - Administrators, Anonymous, Editors and Registered

  • Users can be assigned to one or more groups through Kernel => Users => Edit Users
So my newly registered user (which I could have added here directly) is now showing.
I used the Keys Icon give him membership of the Editors Group and then set that default.

K - not much, but a start - so now to explore what my editor can do.
